Famous Dave's Expanding - Famous Dave's, an expanding franchise retailer, has sold development rights to Rory and Sean O'Neal and plan to open additional locations in Northern California and Reno, Nevada. The expanding concept plans to open 13 additional new restaurants this year bringing their total restaurants close to 200.

Hot Dog Eatery Expands in Florida - Orange Tree Hot Dogs, a Jacksonville based franchise, is expanding throughout the state. They currently have 9 locations in Jacksonville and plan to open an additional five locations this year. Possible areas of expansion include Daytona, Tallahassee, Ocala and Tampa. Eventually, the company plans to expand throughout the Southeast.

Smashburger Targets Orlando - Andy Gross, president of SmashBash LLC, hopes that Orlando's residents and millions of tourists will make Smashburger their new favorite fast casual burger restaurant. The expanding franchise hopes to open 20 locations in Orlando in the next 5 years.

7-11's Aggressive Expansion Plans - The expanding retail chain plans to open 750 stores in the next few years. One of their primary targets in 2010 is Northern California. 7-11 plans to open 50 stores in the region by the end of 2011 adding to its existing 500 in the region.

Five Macy's Locations Closing - Although the retail giant opened 5 new stores in 2009 and plans further expansion in 2010, Macy's has decided to close five locations. Effected employees may receive positions at nearby locations or receive outplacement assistance and severance benefits from the publicly traded company.

Wingstop's Northeastern Expansion - Wingstop plans to add to its existing 437 locations by expanding in the Northeast section of the country. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and other New England states are targets for the expanding franchise.
