Aldi To Build Headquarters, Plans 80 Stores

Discount grocer Aldi Stores said Wednesday it would build a regional headquarters and warehouse in Royal Palm Beach and hire more than 100 workers.

Aldi also said it plans to open new stores in South Florida, including 20 stores in Palm Beach County, creating a total of 520 retail jobs. 

The $50 million construction project will also create as many as 400 construction jobs, said Village of Royal Beach Beach manager Ray Liggins. The warehouse will be on a 70-acre property bordered by Royal Palm Beach High School near State Road 7.

The German grocer announced plans to open 80 stores this year. There are more than 1,000 Aldi stores in 31 states, from Kansas to the East Coast.
